Head Volleyball/Beach Volleyball Coach

Madison Machurek serves as the head coach for both the volleyball and the new beach volleyball programs. The 2019 season will be Machurek's third with the Panthers. The beach volleyball program starts up the 2019-20 academic year. Machurek has  a two-year record of 24-25 with back-to-back USA South Tournament appearances. The 2018 squad went 8-6 in the USA South, the most wins by an LC team since joining the conference.
 
Under Machurek, the Panthers had junior Jazzlyn Kenner become the first player in the program's USA South history to earn first team All-Conference honors in 2018. Kenner was also a USA South West Division first team selection and joined by Mimi Loftus on the second team. Emily Arnold was a USA South West Division first team selection in 2017. In addition, three players have in the past two seasons have earned USA South Players of the Week honors.            
 
Machurek came to LaGrange from Marietta (Ohio) College. She was the assistant volleyball coach for at Marietta and also served as the team's strength and conditioning coach. The Pioneers went 17-16 in 2016, an improvement from the 9-20 record the previous season. Prior to coaching at Marietta, Machurek coached at St. Gabriel Catholic School and the Athlos Leadership Academy in Austin, Texas. She coached USAV Juniors Volleyball with the Austin Juniors Volleyball Club, one of the top club programs in south Texas.
 
Machurek has coached high school and club volleyball in Idaho. She was an assistant coach at Vallivue High School which made three straight state tournament appearances and coached with the Boise River and Idaho Crush club teams.
 
She is a native of Eagle, Idaho, graduating from the College of Idaho with a bachelor of arts in physical education and a minor in coaching and psychology. Machurek holds a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal trainer certification.
 
Machurek was a four-year starting setter and captain for the College of Idaho, where she earned first team all-conference and all-region honors. The Yotes compiled a record of 100-29 in her four seasons, winning 24 or more matches each year. While playing at the College of Idaho, Machurek led her team to three conference championships and competed in the NAIA Nationals three years in a row. 
 
She led Eagle High School to an undefeated season and the first of four consecutive state championships in 2007. Machurek capped her scholastic career by earning state Player of the Year honors that season.
